Obituary of Dorothy C. Lovchuk
Roebling: Dorothy C. Lovchuk, age 87, a lifetime resident of Roebling, NJ, entered her eternal life on October 5, 2022. Throughout her life, Dorothy was a constant caregiver. First as a medical assistant to Dr. Gindhart and then for her grandmother (Baba) and mother (Anna Varava) and finally, for her beloved Uncle Harry. Dorothy was extremely creative and enjoyed her arts and crafts, flower arranging and writing poems and stories, especially for children. She was very devoted to her church, St. Vladimir Orthodox Church and loved decorating the altar with flowers, arranging special events in the church hall, planning fundraising picnics and carnivals and most of all, working with the Sunday School children. Dorothy was a huge fan of opera, she even took voice lessons for a while. She and her Uncle Harry both loved birds and owned many amazing parakeets through the years. She passed this gift down to her cousin, Dawn. One of her greatest joys in her later years was babysitting for Dawn's "genius" parakeet, Baxter. Dorothy is survived by her cousin, Dawn Varava (Alisa) of Voorhees; cousins, Matthew Varava (Kim, Lucas and Nicholas) of Mansfield and Adam Varava of Union County; cousin, Melanie Goralski (Anthony) of Wayside; cousin David Wargo (Sheila) of Southampton; God-daughter, Kathy Pavonarius (Mark) and Godson, Greg Kush of Bristol, PA and many devoted lifelong friends and much-loved co-workers from Physical Accoustic (Mistras) Corporation. Funeral services will be Saturday 10:00 AM at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Rev. Volodymyr Chaikivskyi officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Vladimir Orthodox Cemetery, Hamiton Township.
