Obituary of Michael "Mickey" Talpas III

Roebling: Michael "Mickey" Talpas III, age 72 of Roebling, New Jersey departed this life on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Mr. Talpas was born in Trenton to the late Michael Talpas Jr. and Evelyn Timko Talpas. He called Roebling his home for the majority of his life and also resided in Hamilton Township. Michael retired from the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection in Trenton after more than 25 years of dedicated service. He was a 1968 graduate of Florence Township Memorial High School and a 1972 graduate of Rutgers University, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree. Michael was an avid reader, was always mindful of "clean-eating" and took pride in maintaining his garden and home. Mickey was a "sports car enthusiast" and a skilled motor mechanic. Some of his most pleasurable times were spent stargazing, surf fishing at the Jersey shore and enjoying the ride on his motorcycle. Undoubtedly, one of his favorite pastimes was constructing Lego Technic sets. Mr. Talpas was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Michael Talpas IV and Aaron Talpas and is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Steven and Sarah Talpas and David and Catarina Talpas, nephew Joshua Talpas as well as several cousins. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 16, 2022 at Colonial Memorial Park Cemetery, 3039 South Broad Street, Trenton, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692.
