Obituary of Charles F. "Charley" Bauer Sr.
Florence: Charles F. "Charley" Bauer, Sr., age 75 of Florence, New Jersey departed this life on Monday, February 21, 2022. Mr. Bauer was born in Roebling and was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Ann Dickinson Bauer. He resided in Florence Township lifelong. Charles retired from NJ Bell after 33 years of dedicated service and was the current reigning "Czar" of the Florence Township Recycle Center. Charley was a spirited fisherman and hunter and was also enthusiastic about spending quality time on the Barnegat Bay. However, his greatest passion was being pop pop to Ava and Brenna. He will be affectionately celebrated for the love he shared with his family. Mr. Bauer was a member of the Everready Sportsman Club, member and past president of the Florence Township Council and also fulfilled various committees within the Township of Florence. Charles was currently serving his community as a fire commissioner for the Florence Township Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Martin Bauer, his children and their spouses, Stephen and Margie Bauer, Charles F. Jr. and Kylene Bauer and Diana Bauer, grandchildren, Ava and Brenna, brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Norma Bauer, his beloved in- laws, Jeanne and James Hill, Betty Giginis, Clarence and El Martin, Patricia Martin, Frances and Brad Simek, Charlene Martin and Wayne Baker, his Granddog companions, Leo and Ella and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be Saturday 11:00 AM at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Deacon Gary Richardson officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 8:30AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Florence. Facial coverings are required for the visitation and funeral service. The Bauer family is grateful for everyone's cooperation.
