Obituary of Mykola Ivahnenko

Roebling, Mykola "Nick" Ivahnenko, age 73 of Roebling died Friday at home in the company of his loving family. Mr. Ivahnenko was born in Germany and was the son of the late Mykola and Agafia Schkodenko Ivahnenko. He resided in Trenton before moving to Roebling in 1972. Mr. Ivahnenko was a retired manager, employed by the US Steel Corporation, Fairless Hills, PA with 33 years of faithful service. Mr. Ivahnenko was a 1969 graduate of West Virginia University. Nick enjoyed soccer, cooking, traveling to go fishing and playing dominoes. He was a loving husband, father and DiDi to McKenna and Brayden. Nick will be affectionately remembered for his great personality and sense of humor and was a member of the Whitehead Veterans Club in Hamilton, NJ. He was predeceased by his sister, Lidia and is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lidia Schwec Ivahnenko, his children and their spouses, Greg & Octavia Ivahnenko, Elizabeth & Bill Bernardo, grandchildren, McKenna & Brayden Bernardo, siblings, Alex & Valerie Ivahnenko, Ivan & Sonia Ivahnenko & Anna & Anatoly Pogribnichenko, brother-in-law & sister-in-law and their family, Val & Alexandria Schwec, Jessica & Lauren, many nieces & nephews and his canine companion, Vegas. Funeral will be Friday 8:30 AM at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling. Funeral services will be Friday 10:30 AM at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 280 Main Street, South Bound Brook. Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will in St. Andrew's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, South Bound Brook. The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
