Obituary of Michael Notigan

Florence Twp.: Michael A. "Mike" Notigan, age 85 of Florence Township died Saturday at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Notigan was born in Roebling and was the son of the late John and Anna Pantis Notigan. He resided in Florence Township lifelong. Mr. Notigan served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. Before retiring, Mr. Notigan was employed by General Motors in Trenton, John A. Roebling (C.F. & I.) in Roebling, Hooker Chemical in Burlington, De Laval in Florence and Ocean Spray in Bordentown. He will be affectionately remembered as a special husband, father, pop pop and friend. In his earlier years, Mike played the trumpet with Creamo Marian on drum set, Mike Talpas on keyboard and Joe Solozzi on saxophone. Their group was called "The Royal Tones". He was a self-taught home repairman who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Michael was a history buff and a Philadelphia sports team fan. Some of his most enjoyable times were spent boating and fishing with his grandchildren, working his vegetable garden and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. Mr. Notigan was a member of St. Mary's Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church, Roebling, Knights of Columbus # 570 and the Opre Larson V.F.W. Post 8838, Roebling. He was predeceased by his siblings, John, Traion, Victor & Kay and is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Cook Notigan, his children and a spouse, Michael Notigan, Michele Notigan, Robert Sahol and Sandy & Bernard Luongo, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 AM at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Rev. George David officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O.
