Obituary of John Gasper Revay

Roebling, John G. Revay, 74 of Roebling, passed away into Gods loving and eternal care on Saturday December 16, 2006 at home with his family at his side. Born in Mount Holly and raised in Roebling, he attended Holy Assumption School and graduated in 1950 from Florence Memorial High School and played on championship football teams while at Florence High. John spent two years in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Bell Telephone and AT&T in 1991 with 35 years of service. He also worked at NADE for 7 years after his retirement. John enjoyed sports and filmed the Florence Memorial High School football games for 20 years. He was an avid Eagles fan and was a season ticket holder for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling and going to Florida each winter. John was a member of Holy Assumption Church and its Holy Name Society, Pope John Paul Council Knights of Columbus and the Telephone Pioneers of America. John was predeceased by his parents John A. & Rose Revay. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Smolko Revay, daughter and son-in-law Debi & Milt Shaw of Pennington, son, David Revay, of Roebling, daughter-in-law, Lisa Revay, of Bordentown and three grandchildren, Rebecca & Tyler Revay and Samantha Shaw. Funeral will be Wednesday 10 am from Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors 1115 Hornberger Ave. Roebling. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 11:00 am at Holy Assumption Church, Roebling, with Rev. Albert Ricciardelli officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
