Obituary of Nick Shevchuk

Hamilton Twp., Halyna and Nick Shevchuk, of Hamilton Twp., NJ, died Sunday.

Halyna was 69 and Nick was 75. They were married for 52 years.

They were both born in Ukraine and moved to the United States 50 years ago, residing in Hamilton Twp. for 45 years.

They were Founding members of the First Ukrainian Baptist Church of Levittown. They always found time to help others. Halyna practiced her strong faith and enjoyed baking.

Nick was a Deacon at the church and enjoyed fishing.

They are survived by a son & daughter-in-law Peter & Kathleen Shevchuk of Manlius, NY

2 daughters & a son-in-law Elena & Michael DAnna of Hannibal, NY

and Natalie Shevchuk of East Windsor, NJ

7 grandchildren

Many nieces & nephews

Halyna is the daughter of the late Priska Kurchenko Dereka

Also survived by her father Igor Dereka of Trenton

2 brothers & sisters-in-law Mykola & Olga Dereka of Columbus, NJ

and Wasyl & Alexis Dereka of Hamilton Twp., NJ

Nick is the son of the late Ivan & Anna Romanchuk Shevchuk

Also survived by 2 sisters & brothers-in-law Anna & Clifford Robbins of East Windsor

and Alena & Richard Mount of Hamilton Twp., NJ

A brother & sister-in-law Bill & Karen Shevchuk of Ringoes, NJ

Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:30AM at the First Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Church of Levittown, 3001 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, PA with Avdiy Chripczuk officiating. Friends may call Friday from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM at the church.

Evening services 8:00PM following the calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Orphan and Widow Fund of First Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Church.

Interment will be in Morrisville Cemetery, Morrisville, PA.
