Obituary of Maria Krewsun
Ewing Twp., Maria Hadzenko Krewsun age 77, passed away Friday at Care One Nursing Facility of Ewing. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Josef Schiller, in July of 1955 and her second husband, Wasyl Krewsun in March of 1998.
Born on March 11, 1929 in Kyiv Ukraine, Maria was orphaned as a young child and was placed into forced labor by German occupying forces and sent to Schwandorf Germany in 1942. She remained in Germany after WWII and was married. After the death of her first husband, Josef, she came to the United States in 1960 settling in Trenton, where she married Wasyl and started her new life in America. She had a deep faith and devotion to God and enjoyed her children and grandchildren very much. She was a member of St. Georges Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Maria retired as an employee of the state of New Jersey after many years of dedicated service.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Joyce Schiller, Yardley, PA, Harry and Vera Krewsun, Clarks Summit, PA and Alex and Maureen Krewsun, Frenchtown, NJ. Five grandchildren, Eric, Steven, Samantha, Michael and Lauren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 9 AM at St. Georges Ukrainian Orthodox Church 839 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Yardville. Burial in St. Andrews Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, South Bound Brook. Calling hours will be Monday 6 PM until time of services at the church. Panahida Services will be 7 PM with the Very Rev. Petro Levko officiating.
