James S. "Jim" Baranyi

Columbus, formerly of Florence: James S. "Jim" Baranyi, age 82 of Columbus died Tuesday, March 12, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Baranyi was born in Trenton and was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Sitko Baranyi. He resided in Florence Township lifelong before moving to Columbus recently. He was a retired police officer and toll collector for the Burlington County Bridge Commission with 35 years of faithful service. Jim had a passion for playing the drums and music. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Sonya to their favorite locations in Lancaster, Atlantic City, Myrtle Beach and the Jersey shore. Mr. Baranyi was a member of Holy Assumption Church, Roebling. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by Stephen Baranyi, who was like a father to him and his brother & sister-in-law, Joseph & Betty Baranyi. James is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sonya Tymash Baranyi, daughter & son-in-law, Karen & Mark Coyle, several nephews & their families and his extended Tymash family. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 11:00 AM at Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Ave., Roebling. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 - 7 PM and Wednesday from 9:30 AM until church departure at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Interment will be in Holy Assumption Cemetery, Roebling.
