Richard H. "Dick" Tindall

Mansfield Township, Richard H. "Dick" Tindall, age 86 of Homestead at Mansfield, passed away Monday in Virtua Memorial Hospital, Mount Holly. Mr. Tindall was born in Trenton and was the son of the late Liscomb and Ida Keegan Tindall. Dick resided in Columbus the last three years and was formerly of Little Egg Harbor, Barnegat and Browns Mills. He was a salesman representing many corporations during his extensive career. He was also a retired Athletic Director at McGuire Air Force Base and served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Tindall was a1951 graduate of the Bordentown Military Institute Prep High School where he lettered in all prep football, basketball & baseball. After graduation he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs and played in their minor league organization. Dick also officiated high school basketball, college basketball, Eastern Division professional basketball games and was named an Athlete of The Century for the 1950's by the Newark Star-Ledger. Additionally, Dick was an enthusiastic Philadelphia professional sports fan. He was the husband of the late Deanna Tindall, father of the late Brian Tindall, brother of the late Margaret Tindall and grandfather of the late Oliva Tindall. He survived by three sons and their spouses, Richard & Joanne Tindall, Jeffrey & Lisa Tindall and Mark Tindall, grandchildren, Chase, Ashleigh, Keegan and Tiara and great granddaughter, Alaina. Catholic memorial services will be conducted Saturday at 11:30 am at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Deacon Ronald Schwoebel officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Holy Assumption Cemetery.
