Leonard N. Jacoby

Gilbert, AZ: Leonard Neall Jacoby, 75, went home to his Heavenly Father on Monday, December 24, 2018 in Gilbert, Arizona at the Blessings of Joy Home after bravely battling a long illness. Mr. Jacoby was born May 21, 1943 in Trenton, New Jersey and was the son of the late Nicholas and Laura C. Romani Jacoby of Florence. Leonard attended Florence Township Memorial High School and then served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. After serving in the Marine Corps, he worked for the Monsanto Corporation in Hamilton, 3-M Corporation in Bristol and retired in 2006 from Rhom and Haas Chemical Plant in Bristol as a maintenance mechanic. Upon retiring, he moved to Mesa, Arizona to be closer to two of his daughters, Cheryl and Suzanne, and four of his seven grandchildren. In "Lenny's" spare time, he served his community with the Florence Township Volunteer Fire Company from his early high school years until he retired and moved to Arizona. He was the past fire chief for the Florence Township Volunteer Fire Company for two terms, was a life member of the Florence Fireman Relief Association and the Florence Exempt Fireman Association. He greatly enjoyed his beloved dogs, Sarah and Max and also enjoyed researching his family's Italian heritage and cooking. Leonard is survived by his daughters, Michele Herbert and husband John of Amissville, Virginia, Suzanne Baum and wife Tina of Australia, and Cheryl Reid of Mesa, Arizona, seven grandchildren, Lauren, Madison and Zachary Herbert all of Virginia, Randi Cook of Arizona, Heather Cook of Nevada, Megan Fondren of Nevada, and Dylan Stinson of Arizona. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Albert A. and Lorraine Jacoby of Roebling, one nephew, Albert J. Jacoby and wife Kerri Anne of Florence, one niece, Jodi Botlinger of Burlington and great nieces and great nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 26, 2019 11:00 AM at Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Friends may call Friday, January 25, 2019 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 9:30 AM until church departure at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Fireman's Ritual will be conducted 7:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Florence.
