Catherine F. Dougherty

Florence Twp.: Catherine F. Dougherty, age 88 of Florence, died Monday, November 19th at the Masonic Village, Burlington. Catherine was born in Florence and was the daughter of the late James F. and Margaret S. Ryan Dougherty. She was a lifelong Florence resident. She graduated from Florence Township High School and attended Montclair State College. Catherine retired as the administrator for the Delaware River Basin Commission in Ewing, following many years of dedicated service. She previously worked for the Roebling Company and Homasote Company in Trenton. Catherine was an avid tennis player, enjoyed her bridge group, Notre Dame football, travel, watching the Trenton St. Patrick's Day Parade from the Horan's porch, and spending time down the shore; was very proud of her Irish heritage and led the Roebling Company softball team to its first Industrial League Championship. She was a member of St. Clare's Church in Florence, the Altar Rosary Society at the church, the Sons and Daughters of Erin, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings James E. Dougherty, Margaret M. Dougherty, Marion A. Dimon and Jane E. Dougherty and her brother-in-law Dr. Edward J. Dimon. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Muriel M. Dougherty, nieces & nephews Edward J. & Jane Dimon, Margaret Mary (Mimi) Dimon, Patricia & Bruce Benedetti, Kevin & Ellen Dougherty, Lynn & Brian Ford, James & Elizabeth Dougherty and Dennis Dougherty; great nieces & nephews Cain & Kari Dimon, Chris & Dana Dimon, Meg & Guy Douglas, Catherine & Greg Sieghardt, Pat & Emily Dimon, Theresa & Brian Van De Veere, Cate Benedetti, Tricia Benedetti, Anne & Mike Hagner, Kevin Dougherty, Caitlin Dougherty, Jim Dougherty, Erin Ford, Meghan Ford, Brian Ford, Mike Ford, Sarah Dougherty & Aaron Long and Kiley Dougherty; great-great nieces & nephews Jack Dimon, Eva Dimon, Grace Dimon, Lily Dimon, Owen Dimon, Finlay Douglas, Mary Douglas, Rose Douglas, Maggie Sieghardt, Jane Sieghardt, Rowan Dimon, Gweneth Van De Veere, Graham Van De Veere, Michael Hagner, Thomas Hagner, and Maeve Dougherty. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 11:30 AM at Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Ave., Roebling, NJ. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:00 AM until church departure at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling, NJ. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Florence.
